ahhh just found the page

90mm High and Low Beam Headlamps for Custom Applications.
These headlamps are DOT compliant but the lighting pattern is near indistinguishable from the European ECE lighting pattern

so technically if you had these @ the right height they would be legal!!! wtf im pissed @ my self now

ohh they use h9 bulbs @ 65 wats, they would be sweet headlights

Hey! These are the Hella hi/lo beams found in their kits, right? Damn, I was wondering where to get them. Also good to see what they look like on the back side/mounting/etc.

They have also an HID kit for Audis and the Focus that uses these assemblies - so that means we can get HID that has bulbs properly positioned, not some aftermarket 'drop-in'.

Someone forward this to Jim - I thin he's working on an Unobtanium light kit.

well for those interested, here's a very informative site about the hella 90mm.

http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/hella-90mm.htm

it has all the different versions of it listed. Dclin, wish I found them before I bought your HID!! The HID was blinding everyone in sight so I'm getting the east bear and going to fit the hellas in there and probably use the HID as extra light for late night mountain drives.

for bacon ans aspec, are those housings for the bulbs for sale somwhere? can you purchase those for h4 bulbs, cause i have the catz ballast system and i would love to try to make my own housing like the re amiya kits. (ps if i do make this kit i will not distribute this because i am to lazy to make it for a bunch of people, even if it invoves me making money. i'll probably end up buying the housings and never doing **** with it and end up buying the re, if you have info on them give it to me anyway, i'll try.)

Bacon,

Are you selling the Baconsport light kits?
Or is there a how-to on this mod?

Thanks,

Ed

Its not just the fact that the RE (and basically every other kit) uses fog lamps, its how the lights are positioned. The lamp assemblies are sunk so far into the body that little of the usable light makes out onto the road. They definitely look cool, but less functional.

The stock lamp assembly opens higher and forward of the RE lights, and therefor can 'see' more of the road. Unfortunetly in the case of the stock assembly, the optics (reflector) SUCK.:p
