ATF in a Stick?

What is the general concensas on ATF in a 5 speed? Keep in mind that it's farely cold where I am and I'm using Royal Purple 75W-90 gear oil in it right now!

ATF = Hydraulic Fluid.
Gear Oil = Mineral based oil lubricant.
