ATF change frequency
I searched past threads but could not find an answer to this...
I own a 1994 touring-X, JDM. A sticker under the hood lists some maintenance to be performed. It says about the transmission oil:
- manual (MT): lifelong fluid, do not change
- automatic (AT): change every 12 months with ATF-M3
Mazda dealer says the touring-X does not require this yearly ATF change anymore than other AT car of their lineup (hard to believe, imho).
Where is the truth ? Thx !
FYI, other info given by this sticker:
- Engine oil: 10W-30 every 6 months or 5000km
- steering fluid: ATF-M3 every 12 months
- oil filter: 20000km
- fuel filter: 100000km

depends on alot of things how hard you drive the car temp etc.. fwiw a would never go 4 oil changes before changing my oil filter. and i have changed my manual trans fluid 1 since i got the car. if you can afford it do it it can only help an already strained trans keep going!

FYI, other info given by this sticker:
- Engine oil: 10W-30 every 3K Miles
- steering fluid: ATF-M3 every ~24 months or 20K-30K miles
- oil filter: 3K Miles
- fuel filter: 15K miles
That would be my advice, forget what the book or any dealer tells yah.
