AST elimination or Aluminum AST??

I was about to order the
M2 AST Elimination kit for 60 bucks..

And I thought. Maybe I better ask in this forum
before I bought.. Because I thought to myself..
Mazda made a AST for a reason. Wonder if it is
wise to eliminate it or not...

SO whats your opinion..

Eliminate the AST using the M2 KIT?
Or buy a alumimum AST from like Pettite??

Is there an argument for either ???

I thought.. WHY Did Mazda engineers make a AST
in the first place?? is eliminating a good idea??

One more t hing.. MY AST broke when my car was under
warranty.. So it was replaced.. Not sure if it was improved or not.. Anyone have any light on this??
Ist he replacement good enough?? or what???

Thanks

well, for me, i am leaving the ast in the system. my car boils after shutdown and the air gets out via the ast. so maybe thats why it is there. my car is bone stock.

i'd keep it.. there's a lot of coolant in there.. and i didnt think getting rid of coolant in a engine that runs awfully hot was a bright idea. i know it cant hurt with it in.

As far I as know, all cars with the top of the radiator lower than the highest point of the engine have an AST.
The function is to get of air in the system.

Although many are running their engine without an AST, I suggest you keep it. I do.

I have heard that the without the AST there are mini-bubbles in your coolant that can cause engine hotspots.
And as others have said, retaining the AST gives you a greater coolant capacity.
