It's cake...it'll take 10 min to install. It fits into stock location no problem. I did mine last weekend.

My only piece of advice is remove the battery first. Makes it a lot easier to get the bottom hose off. Otherwise, it just installs the same way as the stock one. Oh, and you can suck out the coolant with some vinyl aquarium hose beforehand so you don't make a mess.

Timely comments! I'll be installing my Pettit AST in a few days. The OEM hasn't cracked (yet), but the fuse on this bomb has been burning for 10 years and 83k miles

Cheers,

Correction

I was taking a close look at the car (largely to find an oil leak- turbo- damn), and noticed that the stock AST is in fact already leaking!!!! Man, what timing. I only ordered the aluminum one because it seemed like a good precaution. Giving you guys a 10 year head start to figure out all the maintenance items is going to be a real time saver for me

Thanks,

I would recoment just removing it and bypassing it, cost less and you wont have to worry about it anymore, but others like to keep them.

If you remove it you can get air pockets which = bad.

I understand that lots of people eliminate the AST with no ill effects, but I plan to keep it.

Thanks,

Im pretty sure that it's just about the same cost to keep the AST as it is to remove it. Im not possitive though.
