Angry Arghh, Need to Get Rid of the 3k rpm Start Up Bull $hit

It used to work when I started in gear (rpm was 1.3-1.5k on start up instead of 3k) , but now it jumps to 3k rpm no matter what gear I'm in. Anyone know how to get rid of it completely? Thanks for any help.

Before my pfc I used to just give the throttle a slight tap after start up. The revs would settle then.

it's not hard. get your manual and remove the "AWS" ('accelerated warmup system' I think). Basically you look on the back of the intake elbow and you see a fat hose coming off of there and going around the back of the throttle body to a port. There is a solenoid there also. Rip off the hose and plug up the end upstream of the throttles and then unhook the other end and the solenoid and make a block off plate for it.

Thanks guys. I know I should blip the throttle, but the thing is I dont want the rpm to jump to 3k on start up. Blipping the throttle would not prevent it from jumping to 3k, it would only help to settle the rpm after you start it. I guess I'd just do what Wargasm suggested.

I want to know too. This trick only works once in a while, most of the time it just jumps to 3k rpm no matter what.

Next time your under your UIM pull that crap off. If you have the PFC, I noticed my start up idle was very high until I closed off my air bleed screw all the way.
