ARC intake - where does it draw air from?
I've always liked the looks of the ARC intake for the FD, but I am curious of where it draws its air from? Is it thru the red filter thing on the top front? If so, is that really a good place for 'cool' air to come from?
I've modded my stock airbox to where it has an additional 2" diameter intake cut into the bottom of it, and then I have a flex-hose that scarfs air from right inside the nose opening, so I know my car is getting the coolest air possible PLUS it helps prevent the air-reversion-thru-intercooler phenomena.
Anyhow....that ARC intake is kick-*** looking, but I don't buy for looks, I buy for function.
Opinions and information welcome.

It has a filter top and bottom. Each is a little smaller than stock so over all intake flowrate is improved. Air is drawn in from the engine bay like most other performance intakes. The newer red ARC filter pads seem a little cheap. Nothing like a K&N filter. The older white ones are better IMHO. Apparently a K&N for a Land Rover (do a search) fits perfectly.
