Apexi Power fc and now car wont start.

yesterday I took a few hours to remove some of the old and install some new. everything went pretty well until i put in the apexi power fc. Went to do the first start up and set the idle. Car won't start. at all. I don't have any warning lights. no smoke or burning odor that the manual warns about lol I also have no start.

I have heard this sometimes happens when it has been preset to run with the apexi boost controller. While this is in shipping does anyone know how to change this setting or even check if this is what my problem is.

Thanks for your time and help

hmm... off the top of my head:

go to etc----> function select, and then there might be an apexi boost control option there. set that off. it's a funny japanese character. should be the opposite of the one for O2 F/B , which should be on from the factory.

also go into setting and then I think it's PIM volt. set that to option 1 if you still have the factory MAP sensor.

did you cut the three wires (or de-pin the PFC) as the instructions recommend?

also, is this a brand new Power FC or a used one with somebody else's settings?

Well the first thing to do is, look at the comander while cranking. It should read 200-300rpms durring cranking.

If it does.. then try resetting it to the factory settings.

If it reads 0rpms durring cranking, make sure the gap between the ignition wheel(Don't know the technical name, front pully) is within spec. I have notice with anything more then 1mm gap will not read the rpms. You can adjust the gap by putting small washers behind the hall effect sensor.

Hope that helps.

If you got the PFC used, you need to put the PFC back to defaults. Go to the Etc menu, All Data Init, highlight Yes, then next. Then, shut the car off and turn it back on. Try it then.

If it still won't start, try swapping your stock ECU back in and see what happens.

Does the engine physically crank over, but not start? If it's not cranking, there's something else that's wrong - the PFC won't be the culprit of not turning over.

Does the car have stock injectors and stuff?

There is a specific PFC forum.

I agree with Dale on installing the old ecu to see if the car starts.
