Apexi N1 Dual video request

Like the title states Im looking for a good clip of a fd with N1 Duals. I have looked all over youtube, google videos, streetfire and I just cant seem to find one. Theres one with the fd on a dyno but it doesnt have good quality. So if someone has a video of their own, or a linky that they know works Id really appreciate you putting it on here. Im either going to get this or the RB dual tip.

Don't bother. Its just about the worst sounding exhaust you can buy for these cars. It also fits poorly, melts the rear bumper, and rusts. Go with the Racing beat if you want dual tips.

I agree with rotary experiment seven, the apexi duals have to be the worst sounding, worst looking exhausts you can ever put on an FD.

Honestly, i dont see how someone can put the N1 single tip let alone a dual N1??? Like why??

If you want dual tip, get the RB dual like ^^^ he said.

If you want a more subtle exhaust but still have a raw sound, maybe get a PFS??

Thats my car with just an HKS DP, and the stock cat. Its pretty loud to me but i dont think it passes the "annoying" rotary sound most straight through exhausts bring with no cat. Reason why i keep the cat on.

I like the N1 single and GT Spec, but the N1 dual sound like, in a word, Poo.

Hi Guys,

as if, you have ever had these on your car? I had them on my car and they sounded awesome... although it did melt a tiny bit of the black section under my rear bar and rattled on my tow hook now and again, but each to their own, I loved the note.. Having said that I have a RE Ti now, I like that note better

I also like the looks of the greedy ti exhaust. Also it weighs next to nothing

Get Racing Beat, never look back. Its the grown-up FD exhaust. It looks almost stock (or should be stock rather) but sounds so nice, especially when you have a ported motor and a nice downpipe. Nice deep idle tone

I use the PFS exhaust. It's my fav. Switched from N1 duals.

PFS is not as loud, kinda makes the car sound like a boat though... N1 is cool if you're looking for as loud as possible without a straight pipe.

well no I havent had them in my car. But living in southern california where most of the FD's in the country seem to be, I get exposed quite a bit. Therefore I've seen and heard a few N1 duals.

I like they way the look, but I can't get over the sound and the fit. So they get a thumbs down from me as well.

anyone heard it with the silencers installed? I really like the looks, but the sound levels do worry me. I like the Racing beat setup, also considering the greddy ti, hks hi power, and a pfs system.....

I have the n1 duals on my FD. It came with the car so I was worried it would sound like crap. To be honest it sounds great and is not very loud on my car for some reason. But I do still have a main cat so that helps. Forget what people say, get what you want.

I speak from firsthand experience, having owned two different FD shops and having driven over 100 of them in the last ten years. Keep in mind it's just an opinion of course

Catbacks I *do* like and have extensive experience with include the PFS (ran one for like 5 years) and the Greddy Ti (a good bud had one installed and I drove his FD for months while he was deployed).

I daily drove my FD for years with DP+Midpipe+Greddy Ti, I loved it but it was too loud for 90% of people, after long drives my ears would be ringing for a lonngggg time...Ive also had friends with RB, which sounds/looks very nice, its very low key. The N1's, I didn't think they sounded THAT bad, but that's of course just my opinion.

Here you can hear (somehow - quality of the recording is limited) the sound of the N1 dual from inside the car

http://vholdr.com/video/e-town-autox-20090829-perry

autox 2nd gear - windows open
no downpipe, no cat, resonated rx7store midpipe
stock (unported) motor and twin turbos

It flows very well and I personally love it, nor do I find it as loud as so many others feel.

I have the silencers which I used only once at an event that had sound restrictions.
With the silencers if flows less - by comparing boost spool-up logs - and db reduction is substantial (don't remember the db difference read by the sound control at the event I mentioned but it was significant w/o and w/ the silencers)

- Sandro

Thanks Sandro, that was a sweet video too, sounds good from inside the car. Im pretty sure that i have not been deterred from getting the n1 duals, i love the way it looks. If its a little loud I can live with it.... Its not like the fd is my daily driver it only comes out to play

So heres the scoop, to everyone above that thought that the N1 Duals where a crappy exhaust, your out of your freaking minds! I just put that on my car yesterday, its possibly the most perfect sound I have ever heard in my life. People say there are problems with fitment, melting the rear valance yada yada yada. Its called a dremmel tool, **** looks immaculate, fits perfect, sounds amazing from inside the car, and the idle is smooth and not raspy like people made it sound. Some of yall might not like it, but its your opinion and its my opinion that you either a) have bad taste or b) your too old to enjoy it. I said my piece, Im out!

Dremmel tool and "perfect fit" shouldnt be used in the same sentence.. I personally had the Apexi Duals, and moutned them, but at the time didnt have an engine in the car so i didnt hear them run. My fitment was ok, and I do think they are a nice looking exhaust, but from 1sthand experience with the N1s on turbo FCs, I dont think they sound good. People with hondas with canisters that sound like an angry swarm of bees think they sound amazing too.. so the sound is definitely subjective.

Sound from inside the car is great, i dont give a **** about the outside. Im not going to be standing outside the car when im driving it. A "perfect fit" and dremmel tool should be used in the same sentance if one can alter a tight fitment. I hate the look of the coffe can exhaust, i stand by the dual tips n1's till they let me down.

If I had noticed this earlier I'd have directed you to my facebook page. A buddy took, and posted, some video of my car (Stock port, BNRs, 17psi, N1 Duals and full exhaust) at my one and only drift day in England.

- The N1 Duals are awesome for helping you avoid getting in trouble for talking on your phone and driving... You don't ever chat because you can't hear the other person! lol.
- The N1 Duals are crappy for unannounced arrivals, friends/enemies hear you coming about 5 minutes out.
- The N1 Duals are always good for a giggle on a crowded street or parking garage, see how many car alarms you can set off at one time!
