Apexi GTspec Too loud!! Silencer or different exhaust???

I am running a single turbo set up (kkk stage2) with DP,Borla SS MP with built in silencer, and Apexi GTspec exhaust. I am thinking of putting on a super silencer since the car's extremely loud. I say from scale level 1(very quiet) to 10(got damn!!! thats loud) my car scores 10. How much do you guys think the silencer will reduce the sound??? If it only bring it down to scale level 9, I might just getta different exhaust like RacingBeat or PFS exhaust. Any info?

Get the HKS Super Dragger or equivalent.
one of the MORE silent ones out there..
Might not be as FREE flowing as most.
but hey. IT helps control boost.

So when you gonna get your RE Hood done??

any word on that NEW BOdy kit you getting??
gonna be coming in?

From the Rotary Xecret website: "All GT Spec Mufflers include the Super Silencer, Which can reduce noise levels by up to 7 decibels."

I actually thought the silencer did a pretty good job reducing the noise, but the part that annoyed me was having a butt-plug at the end of the tip. Since I don't track/drag the car but use it for everyday driving, I thought it was pointless to have the large diameter piping & fewer bends just to have the tip end in a 1" opening....

the silencer quiets it down a fair bit but makes it sound kinda funny like its squeezing all the exhaust through a little tiny 1.5" hole. at full throttle sometimes i get a whistling noise as well. if you think youre going to leave the silencer in the majority of the time i would just go with a different exhaust.

Greddy PE. Very deep tone, similar diameter piping, stainless steel, straight through design and a really BIG silencer. To the best of my knowledge it's the quietest straight through design muffler on the market. Apparently they now make a similar muffler called the EVO which tucks the giant silencer under the bumper to make the car look more civilized.

get an exhaust that suits your noise tolerance
I have the dual n1 with a midpipe I would say it's an 8 or 9 if not more even at idle it doesn't sound car like

silencers KILL performance (feels like the flow is worse than complete stock exhaust), look retarded, are hard to get in and out (especially when HOT)

My suggestion to you is to get a quiet exhaust and have an electric cutout put into the downpipe so any time you want full power and don't mind noise you can flip a switch inside the car and it's there

You will not like the silencer because it makes your car slower, it resists flowing

Yes, don't get a silencer. Take a look at how small that outlet is.

It is *very* quiet, but the tone is really good. Personally, I don't like tips that are bigger than 3", and mines is 4". If I were to choose a cat-back, I would go with the RB Dual Tip, but that's just personal taste, not performance. The PFS muffler is a straight flow muffler, as far as I can tell, I just think it has a ton of muffling media. I would reccomend it highly if you don't mind 4" tips, and a quiet exhaust that flows well. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate it a 7.
