apexi boost gauge problem.

today i had a shop try to install an apexi electrical boost gauge, but unfortunately they didnt finish and left the rest up to me. all i had to do -according to them- was connect the gauge sensor, with a "t" valve, into a vaccum line and one of the nipples on the manifold.

now, i have done that but the gauge doesnt read anything. it does, however, illuminate and light up when i press the buttons (memory, warning, peak)

now ive searched a lilttle and came accross some pics but none of those pics showed a "t" valve being used. i also went on the apexi website and looked at the documents but that doesnt help me much. i would appreciate it if any of you had some pics that could help or let me know what could be the problem.

btw, just felt like saying that i left the shop without paying them

one more thing, does anybody know where the second hose is connected to? if you are standing on the passenger's side looking down on the engine, it is the one the right on the manifold. my dad was messing with it and now we dont know were it went.

please excuse my ignorance... thanks in advance, ricardo. if it matters, i have no mods.

Man, hooking up a boost gauge is about as simple as it gets. What the hell kind of shop couldn't figure it out?

There are two nipples on the passenger side of the UIM, one has a line on it going to the ABV (aka BOV), and one is capped off. Many people remove the cap and run a vacuum line from the nipple to the sensor/gauge. Since you are using an electronic gauge with an engine-bay mounted sensor, I would instead mount the sensor off the firewall by the stock MAP sensor (by brake master cylinder and throttle body on the firewall). Then splice the plastic T-junction into the line feeding the stock MAP sensor. Run a line from the T-junction to the gauge sensor. Now you will get the exact same boost reading the ecu receives, displayed on your gauge.

If you are still confused, take a picture and we'll help you out.
