Apex seals

Having just bought an FD, everyone tells me "replace the apex seals before it is too late." How many apex seals are on the rotary engine? and how much would it cost to replace them with new seals???

You can't "just replace the seals" whenever you like... Well, I guess you could but you would be spending a lot of money.

The Apex Seals are inside the engine. To replace/repair them, the entire engine needs to be disassembled.

Stop listening to your buds that know precisely dick and let me direct you to the FAQ and the archives. Let me direct you to Mahjik, Damon, Rynberg, Jimlab, Howard Coleman, DaleClark and a whole shitload of FD owners too numerous to list that don't think, they know. You've come to the right place. Now sit back and take advantage of the most informative RX-7 site there is. Raise your right hand and tell the first of your friends to choke himself, with your hand.
Get a compression check done. Good compression=healthy rotor motor. Don't fix it if it isn't broke, right? Welcome to the Club.

Step1: Stop listening to everybody
Step2: Read through the stickies like you're studying for the Bar exam.
Step3: Thank POS7 for imparting his wisdom upon you
