Apex seals

Ive got a 94 13B with 3mm apex seals in it, i was wondering it 3mm seals made more noise than 2mm seals? My motor is not loud, but I can hear the seals brushing the housings.

bigger seals, in theory, would create more noise but i dont think it should be that noticeable. Its like saying, hey turn on your engine let me hear if you have the 3mm seals..

usually if you can hear the seals the housings are bad, or its possible you are hearing the compression bleed between chambers and have a bad seal. how old is the motor?

The motor has 8,000 miles on it and it is moderately ported.

I've never heard of anyone that said they can hear their apex seals. On a piston engine you can hear rod nock or the valves ticking. Maybe its an exhaust leak your hearing.
