Apex seal in oil pan..

Bought a short block, pulled off oil pan, and found a part of the apex seal in perfect condition after I took the magnetic wand to the dip pan...

Its the piece that is on the top left, like not even half a inch long. How did it get there?

I havent been able to pull apart the motor as I am taking it to Banzai and someone decided to take all my wrenches from my garage.

Sounds like a corner apex piece got 'lost' during the build, ended up in an oil passage, and they just used a spare they had laying around

Thats what I was thinking! I was told the block was stock so I starting thinking about how the hell it could have gotten in the pan lol.

Those pieces like to jump out while assembling a motor, as long as the engine makes good consistent compression I wouldn't worry. Like goodfella said they probably lost it and grabbed another end-piece.

Thanks guys!

Ive been building up quite the collection...Lets hope that THIS block is a good candidate for a rebuild by Banzai racing..Banzai is going to use my rear pate for the auto/manual swap.

Wish me luck guys!
