This is obviously the torque damped being sold on eBay. I bought one and the first thing I noticed was that the mounts shown are not what I received. I did not see how it could mount, and there were no instructions. I contacted the seller, and he claimed that they had just changed the mounts. Even though that was months ago, today he is still using the same picture. He gave me the email address for the manufacturer. They said that it was designed for JDM cars, but it could be made to work. They sent me a picture of how the brace that attaches to on the other side of the ABS unit needs to be re-drilled to make it work. The drawing does not give measurements, so I had to do a best guess. I ended up placing a piece of rubber between the brace and the ABS unit, to keep it from rubbing. It does not mount as in the picture above. It mounts to the rear engine lift brace and over the top of the ABS to the side of the engine compartment. Unfortunately, I can not tell you much about how well it works. I am still working on getting it back on the road, and have only driven less than 50 miles since putting it on. If you end up getting one, let me know and I can get you the info I was given. By the way, when I mentioned this to the seller, he acted like it was all news to him. Funny he still doesn’t mention this in his description. Also, he describes it as “brand new in box”. The one I received looked new, but the only box it was in was a shipping box. When I asked him about that, his response was, “it is better than what I received it in”. It appears to be a good product, but LET THE BUYER BEWARE!

Usually it seems a lot of people are taking the cheap way when "enhancing" their rx7.
I could understand that its cause its cheaper, but sometimes you get what you pay for.
If i buy anything from ebay, i make sure its a specific brand like the new hks twin power i just bought off ebay with the harness =)

The Gotham brace is $139. With that available I see no reason to cheap out on some ebay crap.

C'mon duboisr, where are you on this one? Ok, I got it.
The only reason for using a damper type torque brace is to reduce vibration right? Why not buy Garfinkle's brace for $85 that has rubber bushings in it that reduce the vibration but actually brace the engine as opposed to still letting it move? Call him at 615-893-4469.

The bolt goes through a bushing in the circular end of the brace, as shown here:

911gt2 I am asleep at the wheel . Did you paint your brace .Garfinkle s design does allow some movement, the shifter is all ways in the same place so the problem of hitting 5 th instead of 3rd is less .The people with the braces say the car feels toghter and idles smoother . An expensive damper may do the same . I do not know but if so why spend so much money when the part for less will do the same thing .

Garfinkles is not solid , can you see the rubber bushing in 911gt2 s picture .There is a bushing at each end of the link . His also mounts to the finder wall with 6 bolts not just 2 small 6 mm bolts . The material used is 3/8 thick steel not alum that will not last without the holes elongating .Get one if you do not like it get your money back, will the damper people give you money back if you do not want it after a try out ?

I have 2 solid aluminum engine mounts, engine torque brace, and tranny brace. To me...there would be no other way to have it. The car feels "sloppy" in stock form.
