Anyone using the Ebay hard intake pipes?
I haven't taken the FD out for a drive yet, but I will tonight. Apparently, you get better boost response. Other than that, there's the BLING factor.
But that IC pipe is actually the Efini Y-pipe/Crossover Pipe combo. There's a polished version of it from the RX7store for about $300+. I got a deal on a used unpolished one, but I polished it myself.

i installed the pipes from xoxo parts along with my blitz intake today, it was a tight fit and i had to get new clamps from pepboys, but both pipes fit. it took a little effort to shift the pipes around until both fit correctly and i got finger prints all over the polish, but at least they fit.
it seems the engine accelerates a little bit smoother, i didnt really notice a power increase though. i bought it mostly for the looks anyways because the stock pipes just look funny with an aftermarket intake.

I finally went for a hard drive tonight. So far, I can tell that there's better boost response. (Boost went up by 0.5-1psi according to my boost gauge) Also, you can hear the spooling a lot better now.
I've seen quite a few of these, and it seems that most people use it directly with just a cone-style filter. In that, wouldn't it just be negative in performance if used without some kind of heat sheild...as it would just suck in warm air? I mean, it would dyno higher because the hood is open and a fan is being blown near it, but in real-world performance, wouldn't it be negative as far as performance and pro-detonation?
You could always just make your own heat shield along with a ram air device rigged up from the passenger side vent. That's if you don't have an R1.
For some info, do a search for "Damian". He had a great writeup on his custom heat shield/ram air.

Hey, just go back to page 1 of this thread.
Pics of my engine bay are posted up.
That's Damian's heat shield right there. And my ram air set up is hidden underneath, so you can't see it.

I bought these too. Cost: $49.99 plus shipping. They should be here Tuesday.
I already have the K&Ns and the Heat Shield by Damian... So I'll have left over couplers and I already have the clamps from my current ghetto-rigging of the stock intake pipes -> K&Ns. (2.5" OD Pipe, clamp intake pipe on 1 half, filter on other, viola!) I'm gonna see about using the couplers for the crossover pipe -> Y-Pipe conn. and Crossover pipe -> intercooler pipe. I think I have a leak somewhere in that area...
