anyone uses the Cusco LSD type RS?

I need some info on the Cusco LSD. I know most people use the Kaaz. I got one myself but after I read about the 2000 miles LSD oil change, I have to sell it to get something else. I drive my car almost day. It's crazy for me to think that I have to change LSD oil more than motor oil.

The Cusco one only needs 5000 miles oil change interval and it can use redline oil but I don't know if it's going to hold the 500+ rwhp horsepower.

Anyone has one and can share some info? I also need to know which one is better, 1 way or 2 way?

Thanks in advance.

Chuck, I can't give you info on that LSD but if you're looking for a buyer on the KAAZ, let me know. I will be more than happy to take that off your hands. Or we can work out a deal where you can give me that KAAZ for info on the Cusco

Chuck,
That is the recommended change interval, but Ari at RP said that it doesn't need to be done that often. I change mine about 1 time per year maybe 4500 to 5000 miles and I have been running Amsoil synthetic diff oil with 4oz of Gm diff additive with no harmful results. I road race all summer(about 6-7 times) 2x month. I have also made mid 11 second 1/4 mile runs with no ill effects(to the diff, now the tranny is another story). You can get away with only changing the lube in the KAAZ every 5K or more I am sure. This is a tough unit, and as long as the lube is a good quality, you'll be fine. I certainly can't afford to pay 50 bucks each time I'd need to change the damn crap if I bought the KAAZ fluid.

Hey Chuck, read this thread regarding LSDs.

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...light=rear+end

Also, here is a copy of my post in that same thread.
http://www.kaazusa.com/answers.html

"What is the difference between 1.5-way or 2-way L.S.D.?

Sometimes you will hear these terms used in the business of L.S.D. trading and the racing department, etc. but what does it mean? As we mentioned before, when the accelerator is stepped on, the L.S.D. comes into use. But what if you are braking through a turn? 1-Way L.S.D. means that only when the accelerator is stepped on, the L.S.D. comes into use. The 1.5-Way L.S.D. means that when the car is braking, there is little L.S.D. effect and the 2-Way L.S.D. means that either when the car is accelerating or braking the L.S.D. is always active. The difference between these are the shaping of the cam into different shapes for the pinion to fit."

Also, for LSDs, there are two types. Viscous and clutch types. (Companies like NISMO, Mazdaspeed, and Mugen use clutch types).

For the KAAZ units (they are clutch type LSDs), you can arrange the clutch plates to customize the feel of the differential. From 30% lockup all the way to full 100% lockup.

Sorry man. I sold it to Jason (RX-7 Store) already like 1 week ago. I guess I will try the Cusco one just for the heck of it.
