Anyone use Russell SS Brake Lines?

I ordered some, just wondering if anyone has ever used them and how they are. They were only $95. Sounded like a pretty good deal.

Eh, I have the Mazdatrix ones, which may be the same; most of them use the same components. I certainly like the pedal feel of SS lines. It's subtle but noticable.

I've got a set on my car. They were on super whamodyne clearance from optauto.com a while back - got the set for like $70 .

Anyhow, they fit fine. My only beef is it's non-covered braided lines (you might get different ones, though) and the nuts on the lines don't fit well into the tabs that secure the lines. But, this is pretty common on stainless lines, though.

After the install, have a friend hold down the brake pedal and check all the fittings for leaks. I had one leak that was caused by a small amount of crud on the stock flare fitting preventing a good seal.

Thanks, what do you mean by non-covered lines?

Yep, that's identical to mine. Newer lines have colored tubing over the braid to keep grit and crap out of the braid, and to insure the braid doesn't rub a hole in something. Supposedly grit can get caught in the braid and over time it can cause a leak, but I think the concern is moreso with it rubbing against things.

What could I do to stop that from happening? Cover them with something?
