Anyone thinking about a 5 spd conversion....

DO IT!

It was one of the best mods I have ever done to my car... And very simple to do. And no its not difficult, if a 20 year old full time college student with very limited tools can do it, Im pretty sure most others can...

I will be doing a writeup on it very soon, kinda busy with school and everything so I dont have time to get it done right now.

Including a brand new clutch kit, the total price of everything included in the conversion was under 1000 dollars. You just gotta be patient with it, and you will find great deals on parts.

The tools involved were honeslty very minimal, the only thing i bought was a large socket for the flywheel nut. 22 bucks, plus I rented a puller from autozone to get the flywheel and counterweight(AT) off. All the rest of the tools you more than likely have laying around the house.

The Bellhousings bolt up perfectly, other than one bolt. You can use the stock auto rear end, its honestly not that bad. Still a LOT quicker of the line than an AUTO. You will have to drill new holes in the flange on the auto differential though, Which is no problem because the lip on the driveshaft/diff keeps it balanced. Wiring is a cake, as the speed sensor is a direct fit for either harness, and there is two wires for the clutch switch that have to be ran, everything else can be wired up to the stock harness or left out.

In doing this write up i would really appreciate any pictures that show the tranny/differential or pedal area, as some of my pictures did not come out as good as i liked.

If anyone has any questions feel free to PM me!

HaHa after the problems you were having I expected you to not recomend anyone trying it. I agree they were small problems though and I am glad everything worked out in the end and glad you like the 5 speed.
