Question Anyone sold their FD RX-7 on eBAY???

Hi,

Well, I'm sure people have, but I'm just wondering who has? Also had a couple questions:

1- Did you end up selling it outside of eBAY or through eBAY?

2- How much do they charge as a "final" selling fee? Is it a flat-fee or a percentage of what the vehicle sold for?

3- Did the buyer pick-up or did he/you arrange shipping?

4- Was it sold locally or out-of-state?

Just wanted to know what I should expect. I just recently listed my FD on eBAY:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m32

Thanks in Advance,
Rizwan

i just sold mine out of ebay... there are no final selling fees once you finalize it cause you paid the fee when you put the auction up to begin with...

i actually delivered the car cause it was local.

the car itself looks nice though. if i can have another toy in the garage id get it... the price though in my opinion is on the high side. but im prob just saying that cause i dont need all those goodies you put.

at least you went to the right people with gotham and kan working on the car.

$40 insertion fee.
$50 transaction fee (when vehicle is sold.)

I haven't sold any FD's on E-bay but I have sold other cars.
Buyer came locally and picked up the vehicle in person.

I sold my old one about 3 years ago on Ebay. They guy bought it now (which I didn't expect), then flew out from Nevada (to NC) and picked it up. I don't remember about the insertion fees.

Always use ebay to advertise cars then pull the ad once it has been sold using other methods as well not through ebay, the listing fee is extorcionate enough without the final value fee and paypal fees on top. the fees are excessive compared to advertising by other means. but you tend to get more frequent and sometimes stupidly undervalued offers by bargain hunters.

It doesn't have a reserve, but does have a 20k starting price which in a way is a reserve price since you want atleast that for it.

Good luck with the sale, nice looking car.

Thanks Tim (and everyone else )!

That was my exact line of thinking. I figured 20k is the least I'll take for it. Also, eBAY charges a lot more to put a "reserve" price on an item. Kinda sucks, but oh well.

I will be keeping an eye on your auction as I am thinking of selling it on ebay as well. How much did it cost you to list it?

Really? I was only charged $25 + $2 for an additional option I chose (Picture Option). $27 Total Insertion Fee, which I didn't think was too bad.

No, not bad at all. I paid the $40 and another $50 about a month ago when I sold my last vehicle. I'm just quoting prices E-bay has listed on their site, if you got a better deal, awesome for you. Good luck with the sale Riz.

<Edit> Just noticed Ebay offering 33% off listing fees. That would make sense why you paid less.

I"m gonna be watching that because it's almost the exact same car that I own minus the single turbo and porting. Just about everything else is the same. I would buy it if it were a different color.

Buy my car. Its definitely different color (lamborghini orange) and its got way more mods than his. But I will want more money for it.

if anything prevents you from selling it on ebay it's because of the low number of feedback. GL with the sale!

i've sold 2 cars on ebay.

here's a tip for anyone who cares:

pay the extra money when setting up the auction to add lots of extra pictures and/or your own HTML to display lots of pictures. also, for high dollar items like cars, its always a good idea to pay the extra money to have the item listed in the "gallery" and hilighted so more people see it.
