I'm planning on using the stock Vintage Red when I re-paint my 93. It is a beautiful color, when it isn't chipping off in big chunks because Mazda/Ford screwed the pooch on the paint process of a $35K car nine years ago!!!

Sorry about that, had to vent for a second!

Wow, your car looks *very* nice man. Looks like a new car. So when are you going to start changing that underhood picture with some nice shiny mods?

also--never seen that hood before; details please

That hood is on the tip of my tongue. It's just like the Scoot hood, but just w/o the vents to release the heat.

Thanx dude..that car does indeed look very new, it's been very well maintained. I will have to wait a little while before I start changing things under the hood..getting married soon..

The hood is the stock FD hood with a Viper Hood vent grafted on it, it came out really good IMO.

My hood is chipped up pretty good, one of these days I'm gonna have to look into a paint. Good thread, nice to see what some of you guys are doing in that respect.

A red that i would like to see on a FD would be the same red that Ford used on the 98 mustang gts, I know what most of you are thinking... "What the hell?... the same color as what Ford used???" now i know its not the color of an exotic car like porshe or anything but the rare Rio red mustang gts are very bright and look extremely smooth... just an opinion... like to hear feedback though....

I payed 900 for the paint job. I knew they guy and he owed me a favor. But the paint itself cost 399 plus clear 124. Sealer 79. There was no body work so the rest was profit for him. Usually he charges 1300 plus major body work. Minor work like door dinges are included.
