I was using about 1 qt. per 3000 miles with havoline 10w30. after going to mobil1 super syn 15w50, i'm using about 1 qt every 1000 miles.

i don't think it's being burned by the turbos (70K miles),.

No issues here. I think your problem my lie in a leak. As synthetic oils will leak places where regular oils don't. About 2 weeks after I switched to mobil 1, my oil pan gasket was leaking. All fixed and good to go now!
