I have a straight through mid-pipe on my 7 right now, and it's just too loud for my liking and attracts way too much negative attention while driving around / screwing around with the car.

I've decided I want to tone it down a bit, without paying a ton of $$ for a resonated mid pipe.


Has anyone ever tried welding in a straight through magnaflow 3 inch muffler to their mid pipe?

Any fitment issues? Any part number from magnaflow or another brand you'd recommend for easy fitment?

the borla xr1 (correct me if im wrong) is an awesome unit. not too expensive and can be welded in at a shop for about 35 dollars. no power loss either.

A Magnaflow will be quieter than the Borla XR1. I've had both and the Borla really just takes off the rasp of the exhaust note. Magnaflow will reduce the overall volume.

 

Do you remember which one you used? There are so many choices on Magnaflow's web site...

 

It was the one in the rx7store midpipe.. I think it's 14319.
