Anyone know where I can buy the....

I've seen a lot of people with (I believe this is the company) Apex-i Torque Brace. Its suppost to be an outstanding modification and... why do I need to explain what it does.

I checked rx7 store and they do not sell that brands Torque Brace. So anyone know a link to a place that does?

you'll have to modify it to fit though (it's made to fit RHD cars)

I see. Has anyone done a write up on how to do the modification? Or is it simply common sense?

Hrm, I don't believe there were any major differences in the 94-95 that would make that portion of the engine shifted in a good inch orso to the point where the brace would not work... Or atleast to my knowledge. Hopefully someone who has a 94 or 95 will do a post with concerns to this problem. Thanks for the additional information guys.

Not my 94, mines 93. Friend is purchasing a 94 from someone near by and the person he is purchasing from said his friend installed it in his rx7 and it feels like new now. So me and him were going to order then together. Thus my asking. I don't want to buy a dud that I need to modify to work right. Lemme find some pictures of 94 engines and I'll take a look.

The ABS unit changed for 95s only. The heat shield is a lot smaller, which made me confused when people asked questions about their car's pre-cat or downpipe. I can easily look straight down and see mine.

BTW, the rx7store does sell a torque brace. It is Chris Regan's design I believe.

kif, i have the feed ETB. it wouldn't working installing the way the intructions said to do so pertaining to the body-side brace, the ABS interfered with the damper. i'll flip it around and see how it works. i'll get some pics of both the installs and let you know what's up tomorrow.

i know 'lost time' on the other forum has a write up, or rather the list of parts you need to make it fit good. basically just a longer bolt and some washers/bolts to extend the engine-side mounting point. it basically ends up like apexkw's picture (the longer bolt with the washers/nuts)

anyways i'll get some pics up tomorrow for ya

Jimmy

ok well i ran out and tried it. it's a no-go on the 94, without getting a longer bolt for the engine-side and some washers.

unless if you're willing to re-mount or bend the abs unit out of the way...

Rumor has it that the damper on the FEED brace isn't really a damper... it just looks pretty so they can charge more for it. I heard this from a friend who cut his open, supposedly.

yeah it's not a damper/shock absorber so-to-say. i opened mine up tonight, and there's a white 'sleeve' in it. i tried pushing it in but it wouldn't budge. maybe under some more stress it might give a little bit, who knows.

from what i've heard, the bushings at either end of the damper absorb all the vibration.
