Anyone know the difference between a resonated mp and a non-resonated one?
I have a non resonated midpipe with the apex'i n1 single. Even with the silenceer the car is super loud. Has anyone had both resonated and non-resonated midpipe before? What's the difference in sound? Will it quiet the car down significantly?
Also, is a mp with a borla welded into the midsection quieter than a resonated midpipe as well?
I really like the n1 single but if I can't quiet it down enough, I will have to switch it for something else

The resonated is suppose to be a little quieter however I have never heard the difference first hand. The only problem is the price difference, IMO, one is $200 and the other is $300.

BTW how much power do you push to the rear wheels with the setup you are running? I am looking into singles so I was just curious. Also, when is full boost?
Thanks

I think you are out of luck on this one, a resonated midpipe will help some but your car will still be really loud. That is just the nature of your setup, a rotary engine, with a single turbo, and an N1 exhaust will be loud no matter what. The only way I can see improving the noise level with a single turbo is going to a Racing Beat or M2 style exhaust.

the res pipe is actually very sim to the old school cherry bomb or glasspackwhich is a notoriously loud muffler the cherrybomb(or glass pack) is welded in the center. the mid-pipe is just straight through w/no muffler. i have mine set up w/ an edlebrock 3"muffler which i love because it flows great and is very quiet. if you want more info on this you can call me, # is in info box

loud single turbo
I have the Apexi single as well, with a Racing Beat exhaust and a resonated mid-pipe and my car is extremely loud at WOT. Its not the exhaust system thats making your car so loud its the external wastegate. The wastegate, when open, vents the excess exhaust directly to the atmosphere through the dump pipe. Just like having open headers. Ive been told to have the dump pipe welded back into the exhaust system by using a slip joint system so that each can be removed if needed, this should quiet things down 100%.
Rx7.com and SR Motorsports suggested this. Also the resonated mid-pipe is much quieter than the non, my friend has a non and its loud!!!
