Anyone in Japan, HP specs for 01 Type RZ?

I've heard that the RZ's had a LOT more than the factory rated 280. Anyone know if this is true? What are they making at the wheels?

The last time I checked, the mazda japanese site said 280. but, that's just on paper to stick under the 280 hp Japanese 'gentleman agreement'. I am sure it's more like 300+.

He's right. GTR's also claim 280hp... they are lying to claim they are under the "gentlemans agreement".

Well if this helps I saw an option vid of a stock 2001 RS running a 12.9... forgot the speed. RS, RZ, Sprit R, Bathurst R all have the the same hp but the RZ is a bit lighter with the containers instead of seats and the recaros.

The 3 rotor cosmo would not have been an embarasment if there was no 280hp cap . I shutter to think what it could have been...
