Question Anyone here running a Racing Beat single tip with...

Running a Racing Beat single tip with an unresonated midpipe or a hollowed Cat?

Im trying to decide if its worth buying a resonated midpipe or just hollowing out my cat..

I had a friend running an Apexi N1 with a straight midpipe and it was deafeningly loud even following behind... so id like to keep the noise level decent, hence the Racing Beat, but im wondering how loud itll be with a straight midpipe/hollowed cat, versus a resonated midpipe...

any input would be helpful!

hollow the cat and if you dont like it buy a midpipe. try something with what you have first before spending money. hope you ported the wastgate and have a boost controller before just bolting up a full exhaust.

buy an rx7store resonated midpipe.

the exhaust will be quite loud without a resonator

(i had the RB single tip with a hiflow cat in the midpipe and it was still loud)

I bought a used "mint-looking" dual tip RB catback from a forum member and my car is raspy and loud...it only sounds nice under bridges at wide open throttle. That's with no cat. A friend installed a previous generation dual tip RB catback on his car, with and without a cat, and it is significantly quieter than mine. I condemn the packing in my muffler and I even spoke to Racing Beat about this. They think it's unusual that the stainless packing would have blown out, but possible. By design they should have a nice exhaust note with or without a cat. A resonated midpipe will definitely bring it down even more, but it's subjective, so it's hard to say what you would find acceptable or unacceptable.

Theres a dude paying $125 for cats in the 3rd gen fs section, dont just smash it all up! Use the $125 for a used midpipe or for the magnaflow you were talking about.
