Just wondering if anyone on here has a Hiper w/ a dp and mp. I was thinking about getting one and running it with a dp and resonated mp but I don't wan't anything annoying so let me know if you've heard one.

 

I have a 3" DP, 3" hi-flo cat, and the HKS Hyper. Very loud. Very unique and throaty under WOT, but LOUD.

 

Are you talking about the 4inch race one? If so, here is just about how it will sound like.

BTW: The race exhaust comes with a 4inch midpipe

 

The 4inch is the HKS titanium race series. Thats a bad *** exhaust. Loud but real light weight.

I have the HKS Hiper CB and HKS Downpipe. It's not too loud at idle or medium throttle, but when you go W.O.T it is pretty damn loud. When it backfires it's REALLY loud. I don't have a midpipe, but I will be getting one soon. So i'll let ya know.

 

I have the Blitz Nurspec full stainless with dp and mp, sounds awesome at deep low rpm throttle yet not annoying while cruising on the highway, very subtle noise.

Highly recommended for the price, it's full stainless.

Yet this comming from a guy that has never own a FD is pretty sad, especially when he has over 5030 post LOL! It is amazing how much post you can rack up by giving advice on something you have no experience with.

BTW: He only got up to 2k in that little video. Also, it is louder and lower in real life, its a little raspy in the video.

 

Nah, that's my brother's car, I got the Silver one with the Knightsports III front end. He has a Bonez 3 inch dp going to a straight 4inch back exhaust. He also has a manual boost controller which is working like a charm to keep boost right where he wants it. Other then that he is nearly stock cuz he is saving for a project he is working on.

He has not dynoed it yet but it doesn't really matter...

I got a dp (HKS), mp (?) and Trust Catback (3.75inches straight thru type). You will probally think mines is really loud untill you hear my brother starts his car up, it totally drowns mines out.

 

so one must own an RX-7 now to have an opinion on weather or not they like an exhaust note??

i could understand if one was asking about troubleshooting boost problems, or asking if their engine was blown, but how does an RX-7 owner have more knowledge than me about what exhausts i think sound like **** on RX-7s?

This may be a first, but i have to agree with Joe on this one.

Whether you know everything about an FD or nothing...it dosnt matter when it comes to preference on the sound of ones exhaust.

 

Have you ever even heard a real FD before?

i have heard pretty much all the exhaust systems for the FD out there, other than the M2 Dual Tip, and the rare Japanese units that practically no one in this country has.

 

I don't care for it either.

I have had the HKS Hiper. It's Loud. About the same tone as the GREDDY(trust) unit. Not as bassy as the Blitz Unit. IMO, a decent exhaust.
