Anyone have tan floormats with tan stitching instead of black?

Just curious since mine came with black stitching and was wondering if this was an option from the dealer or if it was based on the year they were made.

I don't know the answer to your question. Did you just buy those? If you don't mind, how much were they?

Thanks, Adam

I bought them from a guy on the forum. Let's just say I paid him more than what most people were willing to. They were originally purchased from the dealer 11/22/00, Pulliam Wray Mazda, which interestingly was where I would get my car serviced in college.

hmm. Now that's interesting, never seen that before. I've had three sets of tan floor mats, all of them w/ black stitching.

Well there is atleast another set out there like these since it says on the tag

LOC: FB21CB QUANTITY: 2
PART: 0000-88-7694-70 DATE: 11/22/00

The white sticker underneath is the sticker for this particular set and it looks like the yellow/white sticker is the one for the order from the Parts Distribution Center. But I could be wrong, Quantity: 2 could just mean there are 2 mats in a set.

I'm pretty sure it means 2 in the package.

For the OE black mats at least, there appeared to be at least three runs, or perhaps three different manufacturers. The ones that I came across (I've seen about 15 sets first hand) were constructed differently (subtle differences, including backing material, thickness, etc). Auto manufacturers don't make everything for a given model; much of the parts are contracted out, and often times to multiple vendors over the course of the run. Your current set may be manufactured from a different run then your original.

i think maybe the stitching variations are for different exterior colors of fd? my bb 94 has tan mats with black "rx-7". at first i thought 93's had the tan stitch but if those were purchased in '00 then...
