Perhaps if he tubeframed the entire car, it might have saved him. Still, he was ejected from the car. I'm sure if he was wearing a 5-6pt safty harness with backing plates, it would have at least keep him in the car. I'm sure a roll cage should have done something to help...

Nah, man the difference is that as you get older you usually have more to live for and more at stake. My need and desire to support my family and be here for many years to watch my one year old grow up far exceeds my desire to go 150mph.

I'm with you guys on the thinking twice thing. I don't want to die, but if I killed my sister or a friend or just a stranger on the street, I couldn't live with myself, if I survived that is. My heart goes out to the family and friends of those two unforunate fellows. Josh

Sad stuff. Drive careful, guys. Save 100+ for the track.

On a brighter note, here's a pic of a wreck where he was banged up pretty good, but fine now. Garrett (G's 3rd Gen on these forums) was walking around last week back to normal when I saw him, although he did get banged around obviously.

His big $$ items were all salvagable too! Ported motor, etc etc.

Stephen, he can tell u the whole story. He wasn't speeding, it was just a freak thing on a wet road.

I can tell you that Garret's totally fine, and almost all the $$ performance stuff on his car survived. He had it just about as fast as stock motor/twins can go, I believe. Phenomenal car, the fastest I've ever ridden in. And he'll be looking for a new shell to put his stuff back in...

If there's a morale to this thread:

1) Be very, very cautious going 100+mph on public roads.

2) Don't go over 70mph when the roads are wet.

Ill give you another moral of the story....
when you see deer signs, obey them ESPECIALLY in a heavy forested area....

Actually, if you read what Jim said about the wreck...130mph back flips is a pretty accurate summary of the accident...

The car travelled over 200 yards from the road, flipping end over end, touching only the rear and front of the car.

It should be legal to kill deer anywhere near heavily populated areas. Around where I live, those little Fockers are safe and sound because it's NEVER hunting season. So they just sit around and eat my bushes and have little baby deer. Damn them! I ought to get a nice quiet bow and bag a few when I see them. Muahah!!!

Whenever I see a f**ked up car it turnes my stomach. Just goes to show that you HAVE TO respect these cars. I've scared the crap out of my self many times in my FD. Just take it easy out there guys.

My one trip to 155 mph a few months ago will be my last. I have no desire to go that fast anymore. Just too damn risky. Now, that doesn't mean I'll give up on trying to accelerate to 100 mph in record times. Does this make sense
