I recommend the sway bars BUT get beefer mounts or you will break them under hard conering. DO NOT get the RB Springs, the drop is to much and it makes the car to low (for my taste). I have the RB Full sway bars on one car, and the front on my other FD.

check newbie/info thread at top.

http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/anti-sway_bars.html

The old front modular/adjustable RB bar is discontinued, replaced with a solid 32 mm bar, like susp'n tech's front bar. This stiff a bar would go well with 800-900 lb/in springs. With normal spring choices, it pretty much defeats the very nice independent suspension you have, and will hammer the mounting points. It also weighs about 15-20 lbs

The RB rear is 19mm, hollow and adjustable. Works well with TP adj tubular front.

Eibach used to sell a nice tubular set ... discontinued.

I just got my set in the mail! Well built, very nice black finish. I can't comment on the fitment yet, but will be installing them when I receive my new radiator from AWR in a week or two. .

Hope this helps .

BTW - I also have RB front and rear sway bars. They work extremely well on my setup!

I got the Mazdatrix ones, though pricey were very well built, and fitment was perfect its also on both of my cars. And looks exactly like that.

Talking

I have the RB springs on my 93 and are very happy with them. I replaced the upper shock mounts when I installed the springs and do not have any problems with rubbing. For me they are a good compremise between comfort and performance but of course this is my personal taste. I use my car mostly on the steet.

They are comparible in price (within 20 bucks). I'm looking froward to doing the install over Christmas .

Another option would be Tri-point's adjustable front sway bar.

True, but it's overkill for most people, and you could buy both the Racing Beat front and rear sway bars for less than the Tri-Point front bar.

The Mazdatrix bars are Racing Beat, unless they've changed vendors. I bought my sway bars through them way back when and they were RB adjustable front and rear bars.

I have the solid RB front bar and recently snapped off the passenger side bolt that goes through the endlink. Not exactly sure why but I think it happened because the bolts they provided didn't go in smoothly and took some good torque to go all the way through...I remember doing this with a 3/8" hand ratchet and the bolt was getting very warm, probably compromising the bolts temper, who knows.

If you plan on getting this bar I suggest going to the hardware store and buy two high grade studs with the correct pitch for the bar's threads to screw on permanently (like stock) and use two nuts with a lock-washer for the ends. I suspect the bolts RB provided weren't the right ones but probably close. Other than that it's a good bar for street use.

Btw, I'm about to install the HKS purple bars this weekend, anybody know if it could be stiffer than the RB even though it's hollow and smaller in diameter because of the type of metal used?? I guess I'll find out after I take it for a spin...

Get the RB bars and springs. They fit perfectly, lower the car just the right amount, my wheels no longer rub the fender lips like they did with the prior spring set, and provide balanced handling without loss of ride quality. The Tri Point front bar is obscenely expensive.

They are but well worth it. Mines were twisted like pretzels after one auto-X session on good tires.

I thought they were too, at least through (the former?) M2. And you had to remove and re-weld an attachment/hold-down for (IIRC) an AC line on the pasenger side.
Did the post 95 models have strengthened mounts?

The fronts are the same diameter as stock but hollow and heavier. The rears are .75" and have only one hole.

Thanks for the #'s on the HKS's Carter...I also have the Widefoot mounts and they're awesome.

Now if someone can give me the stiffness for the 'new' RB bar that I've been using in the last few months, that would be great...man, with all the R&D that they do, you would think that they'de have the stiffness percentage over stock advertised somewhere.

HKS front must be bigger than stock.

HKS lists front as 166% of stock stiffness. Stock is 1.125" and hollow (100%). A solid version of the stock bar (addco) is 140% the stock stiffness. HKS could be 30mm solid (170%), or 1.25" x .188" wall hollow (163%).

A solid 1.25" (32mm) like new RB, or Suspension Tech's, is 214% of stock stiffness, more than double. Too much stiffness, and too heavy.

The Eibach front was 1.25 x .188, but is no longer made. It was about same stiffness as HKS, and the usual modular front tri-point at stock arm length settings. I think the HKS front, and RB rear (3/4" hollow, and adjustable, like old eibach) would be a great combo.

Front HKS sold separately? $$ ?

Check link in my post on pg1 for a comparo.

Actually, I just measured it to double check cause I needed to order some bushings for it and the HKS is 1.125" as well. The HKS is also heavier than the stock bar. I'm thinking the HKS is stiffer/heavier because it has thicker walls or it's made of denser metal. What do you guys think??

Oh and I weighed all of them on my bathroom scale and the stocker is by far the lightest and the RB(solid) the heaviest...HKS somewhere in the middle (12lbs?) Sorry, I'll try to write them down tomorrow and post the results.
