From the point-of-view of the collector market, this pretty much sums it up.

If this car had less than 10k miles it probably would not even fetch $25k in the current market. The odd paint code is valuable only to the few hundred enthusiasts on this board.

People telling him to not drive it and keep it for 20 years until it becomes valuable should play think about the expected payback. Remember, $20k invested in a CD at 5% is going to give you a guaranteed $50k in 20 years. An FD could be a long forgotten car by then and might sell in the same $3-$5k range that early Porsche 928s do.

And for all the cry babies I dont give a **** Its my ****. I will light it on fire if I want.. I dont need to store a car and not drive it just to make a little bit of money. I would sell it for 20k no less. But im not going to put it somewhere and not enjoy it. I buy cars to DRIVE..

Remember..... It is only worth what someone is willing to pay...

No one here can say what our cars will be worth in the future.... We can only hope that they increase in value.
Also, Mopar owners didn't know that their cars would be worth the amount everyone was willing to pay... key word being "willing" to pay to own a Hemi. Otherwise everyone would have bought Hemi's to sell them later...

While I may agree to your point that hemi cudas may be more of a collectible.... That is an orange to this apple.

This N6 FD is literally the ONLY factory painted FD in this color. So stop being foolish.

i think its cool i would buy it or trade my fd for and i have 40k+ in my car and its nearly perfect but you have to admit this is a pretty neat thing...... or maybe its just my need to have things that other people dont. I really like special edition or rare vehicles and this is very unique. I hope someone does buy it. and the lsx part of it.... i own a CTS-V as a daily driver and although it is quite fun its nothing like the fd nothing....and to tell the truth either car will get similar gas mileage if you drive them the same way.

Hate me for what I will say, "WAKE UP PEOPLE", the car is a Mazda RX-7, a Japanese car, it will have no "COLLECTOR VALUE" no matter how rare the color is, + the car has over 60,000 miles which is usually the point when most FD's start having problems, if any of you watch Barret Jackson auctions you will barely see any Japanese cars on there, even the Pettit 3 Rotor beast did not even go for that much....I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is what it is.

Even Italian and German cars dont get too much money in autions, If I wanted a reare or collectible car it would be an old Muscle Car or a Tbody, now those bring money.

I love my FD not for being rare or but for just what it is and the fun to drive and work on it.

Let all the hate begin...LOL...

I think in 20 years FD's will be snaggin way higher prices then what we see now. I think the pearly white in this condition in 20 years will easily be 30K+

i would have no deisre to sell it on barrett jackson and for me that wouldnt be point

i have had rx7s fr quite sometime now and if i was worried about thier value increasing i would have picked a different car to be my hobby.

The fact that this is a one of a kind car from mazda does mean something to some people. i would love to have it.

i will say i agree this obviously isnt something you are going to buy and pay your house off with the profit but it is a neat thing and in the rx7 community it is a collector item.

Ok, this thread is getting closed.

For all you guys (gals) who think this car should be mothballed and stored somewhere for 30 years, now is your chance. The car is for sale. If you aren't the owner, then don't complain how it's being used. If you think the car is worth $30,000, buy it now as I'm sure the current owner will gladly sell it to you for that amount of money. However, don't say something is worth something that you won't pay yourself.
