You are talking about the seats that come in the R1's right?

I have A4's in my car and they fit well though I made new mounts to get the seat lower in the car. I believe CR-1's are bigger than A4's in some dimensions.

The Corbeau A4's are about the easiest "named brand" aftermarket seat to fit into the FD.

What do those cost these days, Mahjik?

edit: about $300 a seat

so my new question is are these seats worth it? Are their weight benefits? A better seating position? Are they SAFER?

The only real benefits:

1. Racey look with the ability to recline
2. Price (they are cheaper than other seats and can be cheaper or around the same price as recovering the stock seats)

They do have the harness openings for shoulder harnesses but like most seats, lack a slot for the "anti-submarine" strap.

Mainly, if you want to update the look of your interior, they will work well for that.
Chuck (cewrx7r1) has the A4's in his car. PM him and I'm sure he can provide a picture for you.

I need two new seats because the tan leather ones are worn out and the driver seat is torn...that is why I am probably going to end up purchasing the A4s.

I think the A4's are bit tall and the shoulders are narrow for my shoulders. Though those are more body type issues. The only real complaint I have is that the standard cloth is hard to clean and I'm not sure how long the fabric will last.

This thread has a few pics of my A4's

imo aftermarket "bucket" type seats look out of place in the fd unless they are true race buckets.

Do these just bolt on to the factory rails or do you have to fab up your own? Also are these seats made for "asian" *** or will my "white" *** fit in them. I like the look of all of the after market seats but they are all to small and uncomfortable. I might just have to get the factory seats redone.

Corbeau has seat rails designed for the FD. Corbeau is a US company. Check their website as they list recommend waist sizes for their seats. Basically, if you fit in the stock seats, you'll fit in their standard seats (they do have"Wide" versions of their seats but I doubt they would fit in the FD).

it helps to lower the rails that come with the seats, mine rub the headliner somewhat.
