Anyone have b & m short shifter?

I have the b & m, short shifter installed on my car, i had to take it apart to remove my dash... well i thought i had everything together but then i found a small dime size grease covered circle that looked like it came from somewhere in the shifter..

the shifter is just the shifter, the black plate on top the 4 screws in that then the two metal brackets with springs that sit on top of the sides?

Thanks

Well i got the pics if anyone can help me identify where it came from, also a little peak at second skin sound dampening stuff i layed down and the little guy that almost doomed the rest of my night.

As i walked into the dark garage to turn on the light and find him next to me, i turned to a full sprint out of the garage.

Did you see a ghost or something?

Anyways, that isn't part of the B&M kit.

I'm glad you didn't get skunked. So, why are you insulating your car with so much sound dampening material? Are you really, really into audio?

Could be REALLY into just hearing his exhaust and not as much road noise. or very into his audio fidelity.

sound dampening also helps with how warm the transmission tunnel will get (from the inside) and how long it takes before you feel it.

There are many advantages to sound dampening, as it shares thermal benefits as well. In the summer, you will have less radiant heat from the road being felt in the cabin... this will help your ac keep your interior a slight bit cooler.

To me, I like the reduction in plain old road noise.

All of the above really, i like reduction in road noise as well as the increase clarity of my speakers. I had the entire interior out for other things already so i figure why not go the extra step make things a little nicer. I also bought special heat mat to put around the firewall and over the transmission tunnel to keep heat out of the car.

It's easy, I have an RE-A Short Shifter and it was a matter of removing the center console cover, unbolting the rubber insulator cover, unbolting the old shifter and bolting the new one in.

edit: The B&M install is different but is also easy, I never did it so I won't say how to do it in case I'm wrong.

Its is part of B&M.. I'm pretty sure.. Its goes inside the shifter where the spring goes. I took mine apart the other day and I'm pretty sure I saw those inside.

I'll try to help you with it tonight or after this weekend. I do need to get my B&M off my tranny.

But if my recollection is correct, I believe those sit on top of the springs.

It goes between the spring and shift fork on the levers fulcrum point. They're will be two springs and two of those spacers. It goes like this; top plate, spring, spacer, Spring/spacer retainer, shifter lever, shifter body.

Are you planning to come to DGRR 08?? If so, you could come to Bham and you are welcome to take one of my car..

I just found a new place for us to stay/have our event.
