what else should be done for the full conversion, besides pulling the whole solenoid rack out and throwing it off a freeway overpass, modifying the holes on the y-pipe, cutting out the flapper door and pre-control actuator and covering the holes on the manifold, and porting the wastegate? is there anything that should be done to the twin turbo unit itself, or should that be left alone? does this sound about right, suganama?

i have all of the above done already to a spare set except for the ported wastegate. does anyone have any idea how much a machine shop will charge me to port the wastegate if i disassemble the turbos myself? how hard would it be to do myself at home with an electric drill and a dremel? should i forget that idea and just bring it in?

For porting the wastegate, all you'll need is a dremel and spray paint. It's cake!

As far as full non-sequential, cut out the flapper door on the manifold, pull the rats nest and redo all your new vacuum hoses....that's it!

look on pics of my turbo unit

there is a little door on the turbo unit itself where it mates to the manifold that needs to be welded open. mine is just spot welded at the lever. i think its another precontrol device (little circle)....cant think right now....it IS Sunday morning....

thats it... just one little flapper door on the turbos themself? is there any reason it has to be welded open at the lever, not just pulled out completely like the one on the manifold?

im not forgetting anything, right guys?

also, when you non-sequential guys pulled out the rats nest, what did you find worked best to cap off the open nipples?

... i would imagine it to be even harder for you, suganuma, taking into consideration your HUGE nipples!

Spray paint is to used to mark the area that you DON'T dremel.

The way to remove old/hard lines fron the solenoids without breaking them, is to use a Dremel tool and ground a grove in the side of the hose wihere it covers the nipple. This will loosen it enough to pull off without braking anything.

If you have a PFC and are full non-seq, add more timing below 3600 rpm because your boost will be lower there than seq and this will help produce more torque.

Who ever says non-seq has poor low end torque has not driven a properly tuned non-seq!!!!!
