I always hear about people upgrading their apex seals to 3mm Hurley Seals, or just 3mm seals in general. the Hurley Engineering website has a lot of different types of seals that you can use and i havent heard of anyone using anything other than just a regular seal. The Swing Tip seal sounds like a good idea. Check it out, along with some of the other types of "tip seals" http://www.hurleyrotary.com/swingtips.aspx
