Anyone ever done this? Drivetrain upgrades

I've been toying with the idea and have recently purchased a 2001 RB Tranny (the one with the closer ratio 4th and 5th gears) and a 2001 RS RZ Rear end with 4.3 gears. Thought would make for a fun hard pulling through all gears experience.

Being that I needed a new rear end anyway and my tranny has 160k on it.

Tell me what you guys think of this setup. Also if anyone has experience with either of these peices I would appreciate any input.

Just FYI is NOT a DD, just fun trips, some track time and car shows (oh yeah and really pretty days).

Also gonna replace my clutch at the same time, the ACT extreme 3 is NOT holding up.

I have the 4.3 gears and love them, you can definitely tell the difference in 1st through 3rd. Bought 'em from rx7.com, and had them installed along with a cryoed TII diff. You'll also need new side oil seals, bearings, and a crush sleeve to do the job right. Got all that stuff from Ray at Malloy.

Btw, was nice seeing you and your sweet FD at Deal's Gap

Yeah man it was nice meeting you too.

The rear end comes with 4.3 from mazda. It's a RS-RZ rear end. So no install necessary. But thanks for the heads up!
