Anybody reinforced their clutch fork?

Hey guys,

Just got my engine back with a fresh rebuild and large streetport, installed the oil pan tonight. While everything is apart, for the second time, I want to reinforce things that were not done last summer.

Does anybody have any testimony or pictures of how they reinforced their clutch fork?

Yes yes, I know I am being lazy. I COULD just walk outside and take some measurements and figure it out for myself... but I was just wondering what you guys have done. Maybe what works and what does not.

Thanks,

=Ben

I reinforced my fork by buying a new one from Ray at Malloy.

You could have it Cryo treated as well. I believe Rich (Goodfellas) had several of his transmission parts treated a few years ago.

Ya, I hear that the new one part is stronger. However, I was hoping to get my engine installed by the end of this weekend... So I was thinking more along the lines of fabrication.

I was just curious how others have reinforced the FD fork. What part of the fork is the most prone to breaking anyways?

from what by buddy told me, they crack by the fork arms by that indentation where the throwout bearing sits.
