Anybody ever tried Xcelplus or similar to pass emissions?

I just had my 7 tested today for emissions and it failed just like last year. I am almost positive if i just put the stock Cat back on(using HI-Flow now) and change the plugs and oil it will pass as this is what I did last year. I was just wondering if anyone here had tried xcelplus or a similar product to pass rather that changing all the parts back to stock. They guarantee that you will pass with this product xcelplus.com

I am also concerned about passing emmisions in may. Can the alcohol cause any damage to my engine? Can i get in trouble if they find out i put alcohol in the tank? my car runs extremly rich and the only thing i have right now is a brand new bonez high-flow cat that i'm going to put on the day before i get emmisions done because the one i have on now is dead(almost completly hollow).

If all you have is a Bonez Hi-flo cat and you can't pass emissions, then most likely something else isn't working (airpump, ACV or something in between).

You can get it at Lowes or really any place that has painting supplies.

no, no, no i have almost all the bolt ons. The new cat is just something that i got in hopes of passing emissions. the mods on my car are:Peter Farrell's Cool Charge Air Intake, PFS Stockmount Intercooler, Polished aluminum intake pipes, Greddy Intake Elbow, 3" PFS Full Exhaust; Downpipe, High-flow Cat, Cat-back, Performance Heavy Duty Street Clutch, Gotham Racing Short Shifter, SX Blow-off valve, Silicon Vacume hoses and AST tank replaced and also have an AEM EMS. My car runs really rich but i just had it re-tuned so now it doesn't run nearly as rich at idle anymore. Also i was wondering(this is off subject) My car spits a black cloud behind me when i floor it because it gets too rich, is this because of my turbos or if i get new injectors will i be able to tune it to not do this? Ray( the guy who tunes my car) said that my cars overboosting and thats why i'm getting the black smoke.

Well, I wouldn't necessarily agree on the "overboosting causing black smoke" part, but it seems your problems are more from tuning (as far as running rich) than anything else. However, that doesn't mean you won't pass emissions testing as is... Rotaries for the most part "smell" rich compared to other car exhausts.

Well that makes me feel a little better. Ray was saying that the black smoke is from over boosting because he tuned it to dump fuel in when it overboosts so that i wont blow the motor because we all know that leaning out has bad news written all over it. Thanks for your input Mahjik!

Well, too much fuel can be a problem too... IMO, if that's what he's doing, I wouldn't call that a great solution.
