Anybody cut their springs to lower there car?

I 'am thinking of cutting my springs to lower my car, I was wondering if any of you have done this, I heard the car will be very unstable but it's the only cheap way to drop the car. Please let me no what the pros and cons are, thanks.

Rikki is right, never cut your springs. Ever see those guys cruising down the freeway bouncing up n down uncontrollably over tiny bumps in a slammed car? Those are cut springs, now imagine your FD looking like that. Ghetto!

Yeah no cutting your springs... thats what the honda boys do. If anything cutting your springs would destroy your suspention and handling.

I think you just saying that so we dont make fun of you. Your going to do it this weekend arent you!!!

I'm just messing with you

just in case though....PLEASE DO NOT CUT YOUR SPRINGS THAT IS ABOUT THE MOST GHETTO THING YOU CAN DO!!!!!!

I say anyone that cuts thier springs should be forced to change thier screen name to be Mr. Ghetto Fabulous!!!!!!

Buy some used performance springs off someone on the forum and change it out yourself. If you can cut springs you can change then out as well. You can prob buy a set used for $100.

......and here I was thinking this was the ultimate ghetto mod............ I don't know ****.

Why not just extend the axles about 6 inches or so, and put on some REAAAALLLLLLY wide tires. Works for me.

No way, if you really want ghetto push the wheels way out like that and use something like a 7 inch wheel/tire. That would really be cool. Wide wheels/tires cost too much!!!!! This would be a excelent mod to go along with cut springs. That way when your bouncing the fender lip will hit the tire

The primary owner of my car installed H&R short springs and adjustable koni shocks. The car truly does look great 4" off the ground and I'm sure it handles well, BUT.... I wouldn't know because the front left wheel is about 1" away from the wheel well!!! I don't know wtf this guy was thinking "upgrading his suspension" but it looks like I'm gonna have to buy the M2 coil over conversion set and do it right myself.

P.S. The battery is even removed from the front of the car to the passenger bin and it STILL rubs hard on right handers!

Chronos: Is it something just rolling the fender lips would fix? You may want to try that.
