Any suggestions?

I am supposed to be racing tonight, for some reason everyone in the world wants to race the pink FD. Any suggestions of what I can do to prepare? It is an auto and I think we are racing from a stop. What is the best thing to do for a stop? Hold the brake and hit the gas a little? Also what gear to start in? Doesn't S start in 1st? Thanks for any reply's to help me for tonight.

Here's an older post about launching an auto:

Launching in an AT FD isn't as easy as many think. As stupid as this may sound, launching the AT FD takes practice and know-how.

Here's how it's done:
- Press hold and select 'L'.
- Brake torque to 2500rpm.
- Release gas, but don't depress the accelerator any further.
- At 3000rpm, GRADUALLY depress the accelerator.
- At 5000rpm, you should be at full open throttle
- When you hear the buzzer, select the next gear

This is THE fastest way to launch the AT FD.

Thanks Mahjik! You are the man! So start in L, see I always screw up because of having to shift to S. I suck at auto shifting, I can't shift mad quick yo.

You need to have the hold feature on when you shift into L (little button on the top front of your shifter) after you get to your shift point, press the hold again and shift to S and select hold again and so on.

why even race from a stop? auto fd's suck from a full stop.I should know I own one.You will get owned for the first few seconds.Expect it.If the car has no midrange youll catch it and then pass it.But if youre racing something just as ballsy youre going to have a tough race ahead of you.Just so you know ive taken a mustang gt out from about 40 miles on and up.But from a dead stop the thing will own me.This is with of course the three mods(intake, catback and downpipe) and boost controller.
