Any stories/help on putting motors back together

I am starting to put my Pineapple Racing built motor back together. I am just following the workshop manual as of now. Anyone have any horror stories or things I should look out for to maybe help my process along a little smoother. I have been without the car for a little over a year now and the bug is really starting to itch. I don't plan on rushing the job, though.

Any stories/help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

No I haven't but I assume that that video is talking more about the engine internals and the block itself. I already had Pineapple Racing do that for me, I was more curious about problems and/or stories that people had when they were putting everything else back on to get it in the car. But maybe there are none, maybe it is not that bad. I really haven't hit any roadblocks yet but I am only just putting the oil lines on and the water pump so I am way early in the process.

Any comments or suggestions would be great.

Thanks,

Yea, that mannual is great! Before you are ready to drop the engine in just double check everything.

When I did mine I had found one of my copper o-ring for the turbo oil feed line was just sitting there!!
Other then that it was good.
Ohh and don't try to start the car with a dead battery hahaha

Yeah, I have been doing all of the aforementioned things. I cleaned up everything, received all new gaskets, fuel lines, etc. About rewrapping the wiring harness. Just using good ole fashioned electrical tape or is there something else better. I probably should do something to mine because it is pretty nasty.

Hey Jon
It's Joe

I would recomend using 3M's self adhesive tape. It has no sticky adhesive but some how the stuff sticks to itself and will NEVER come apart. (ask Chris M. I used a little on his car and he seemed to be impressed) The stuff is expensive. That is probably why the Air Force uses it. I am using it on my rebuild right know too. FYI It is very high temp rated and oil resistant.
