Question any other alternator pulleys i can use?

I ran into a problem with my single conversion. Everything went well except when it came to the pulleys for the air pump delete. I bought a pair here from a member and was told by some that a 31" belt would fit the average kit...wrong. I tried a smaller 29 1/4" (too small) then ordered a 30.5" (a little too big).

The waterpump pully is slightly larger than stock but the alternator pully is the stock size. Its like the pulleys were mixed mached. Its been sad to see something so stupid hold up this project...its all done but this

Well since its memorial weekend and there's no chance to have anything shipped, my question is:
- is there another car make alternator pulley that i can readily find that will fit our cars and that is larger? The stock pully is a tiny 53mm

A larger pulley will underdrive your alternator...not recommended. Did you try going to your local auto parts store and see what kind of lengths they have?

Question

Do you have an underdrive main pulley installed?

Have you taken a string to measure your path with the alternator fully contracted and fully extended to see what size belts will work?
