Any leaks when tapping banjo bolt for oil sensor

Hi,

I actually have the prosport sandwich plate for my oil temp gauge. It leaks oil even with thread sealant and it makes the oil filter replacement difficult (I have to remove the UIM). I'm thinking about tapping the banjo bolt just below the oil filter.

I would like to know if some of you experienced oil leak by doing this.

Thanks,

Alex

i ordered the corksport banjo fitting that has an 1/8" NPT port in it. Albeit, i'm using the stock oil filter pedestal and i'm not having any problems with leaks.

Great. I may have a spare one but it's good to know.

To be honest I had to re-tap the plug threads because I overtighted the bolts the first time. I guess that didn't help. However with the OEM oil filter I had to remove the UIM to remove the oil filter.

Any more inputs would be appreciated.

In attachment you could see the actual mod. I have not install it yet, I wait for the thread sealant to cure. I'm a bit worried about an oil pressure drop since the sensor interfere a bit. What do you guys think about that considering I'll be tracking the car a 3-4 days a year?

Hey Alex! i got a solution for you! You tap the banjo 1/4 npt and put a 1/4 -1/8 reducer. I got it in stock if you want to give it a try!
