any interest in a semi-custom radiator?

i found these things:
http://www.randys-racemart.com/prcdopara.html

called them up and they'll lop off a few inches for $40. so now i've got a 2-pass, 16x26 (2 1/2" core, 3" tanks) on order for $269 shipped. they said they could do a 1 1/2 lower outlet for a little more $$, but i already had the adapter, so i skipped on that part.

anyhoo, just a heads up--great radiator for a really decent price. you have to call them to get the thing shortened. it comes 19" standard.

for the 97 people that hit me up on aim...

yes, you STILL have to make your own brackets to mount both the radiator and the fans (it's NOT a bolt-in). but the size is about right.

and yes, you have to modify your coolant hoses.
no provision for the return on the ast, so either have a fitting tigged, or get rid of it.

well, it came in today. looks good, but no mounting brackets at the top. the top wraps around a little, so i can bend it out and bolt it in. won't look as clean, but it'll work.

unfortunately, the inebriation process has already began, so the install will have to wait until tomorrow when i sober up.

fyi, it was 2 weeks from the day i ordered it to the day it came in. not bad for a custom job

What are the benefits of having this over something like a PWR, Fluidyne, or KOYO?

IIRC, there are already stock 2 pass radiators.

Looks like a good deal. My stocker has 111,000 miles on it but when it fails, I would be very interested in this.

i got it installed today with a taurus fan. it's a little tight and i had to do some trimming on the shroud, but it's in there.

the fan only runs for like 15 seconds at a time when the car is idling. the fan/radiator combo looks like it's going to work great!

if you're going to use the stock fans, you'll have to do a bit more trimming. i've got the apexi gt intercooler, so i've got less room to work with than you guys with the side or front mounts, so it may be a little easier for you to fit it.

My mistake, I meant aftermarket initially.

got to drive the car a couple hundred miles today.

100+ degrees, a/c on and running both open freeway and stop-n-go traffic and temps were solid

didn't get to drive up the cajon pass (20 miles uphill) until the evening when it cooled off, but i think it'll be just fine.

i'll see if i can get some pics in the near future.

finally got to drive up the cajon pass today.
107* outside, with the a/c on and temps were fine. i didn't have the laptop plugged into the haltech, so i don't know what the actual number was, but the temp gauge was half way up, so whatever it was was less than 210F.

radiator is officially adequite, according to me.
