I don't know man, my 7 pulls pretty well up top. I've had the thing to 175, and it was still pulling(it could not do it up hill though, it topped out at 150 until the ground leveled).
Most of the more serious cars i've gone against, have been beaten by my top end(say over 80).
I'm goingto agree to disagree as well.

montego - What Nascar style track is it you race on that you car overheated?
Why would driving at 6000rpms over heat your car?
It never has mine, course I havent dont it for 200 miles. The most I ever drove at constant speeds over 150 was for about 15 miles but my water temps actually went down not up. I'd imagine due to the 150+mph wind hitting the radiator

Ah toilet literature is interesting...
I agree, it is comparing apples to oranges.
I was reading this month's issue of Car and Driver where they compared the 760Li against the the Benz S600. I don't know how different the 760Li is from the 750iL but they say the 760 runs a 13.6@106. What I'd be interested in test driving or running against is this S600. Holy cow, twin turbo V12 in a luxury sedan that runs 12.5@115... Pretty good for some monsterous sedans...

The new 760Lis are that damn fast?
Part of the reason why love the FD is due to it's quickness, I don't care too much about top speed, but I know it's there when should I need it.
It would be an interesting race, but there is no race yet, after this thread I'm curious as to how I'd hold up against one.
BTW, my friend's taken the 750 on the backroads where it's all turns and curves, uphill and down hill and the car has done amazingly well, thanks to all it's suspension features as well. The car is stock except for BMW 18" chromies with Pirellis.....
I'll see if he wants to race on the freeways.......

My only question is where the hell did you find enough road to do 150 for 15 minutes?
I accelerated, hit 175, nearly crapped my pants, and then coasted for like a mile and a half, before I even hit the brakes.
I liked that toilet literature remark. Very funny.......and true.

So I talked to my friend and he gladly accepted the race. So now the question is what should the starting out speed be at, and how fast to go up to........ I would also rather not want to risk going TOO fast to get pulled over or some else happening..........

Actually the mom drives the 750iL daily, the dad just got a brand spanking new black EVO 8 and so far it's a pretty impressive car.
After the showndown with the 750, I wanna take a shot at the EVO.......... SHould be worth something....
