Any expereince with TechnoSquare?

http://www.technosquareinc.com/mdm.htm

Above site lists a new product, MDM-100Z, that claims to connect to FD3's diagnostic port and read/display the the operating information listed below. Looks like a much less expesnive way monitor/test than fatory equipment. Anyone with expereince or thoughts?

In response to my e-mail inquiry their Danny Lee <danny@technosquareinc.com> quoted: $430 + shipping. You can order direct from us. Takes about 2 weeks to arrive.

It looks pretty cool, but at more than a 1/3 of the price of a PFC+commander (which shows you the stuff that counts out of all that), I would save my money.

Looks good. If your going to keep the car fairly stock and won't ever need a PFC this might just be the think. For all the number junkies out there. I think I'll get a PFC, take care of my need for a fan mod at the same time.

Techtom, who makes the MDM-100, really makes good stuff. They're well known for diagnostic tools like this, and they also make ROM tuning setups that LOTS of Japanese tuners use. You put mods on your car, and take it to a shop. They plug a daughterboard into the ECU and tune the fuel curves with a laptop on a dyno, then burn the ROM and put it in your ECU. Matter of fact, I think Pettit, M2, et al's reprogrammed ECU's use a Techtom setup.

Anyhow, here's some more info from their Japanese website -

How to install:

General stuff on the MDM-100:

Screenshots of the FD version, and info on the FD version:

You can use world.altavista.com to translate.

All in all, that's an exciting product - Nissan guys have used Techtom info screens like that for some time.

Haven't dug too far, but you need to make sure it will work on the early 93-95 FD's. Since it's for the Japanese market, they may have different versions for the 96-98 and 99-01 FD's. There was a number of ECU upgrades and changes over time.
