any brain busters on this weird boost leak.

my boost only goes up to 50kpa (7.3psi), in any gear, and after 4-5k rpm, it just drops slowly eh.
and once i shift right to next gear, I don't feel/hear car gonig as smooth as before.
I believe it's the probelm on my second turbo..
and also the boost doesn't go up that smooth. it hesitates, in other words, it kinda goes up really slowly to it's peak, and doing the same thing..
well.. first time i thought it was because i was grinding my clutch away..
cuz the clutch was almost gone...
i realized it after i toasted my clutch in a short period of time.
but still i doubt that... because even if your clutch was grinding away (i barely felt it), your boost should still peaks to certain point sharply and fast.
i'm just afraid that it might be my problems on turbos.. or could be caused by that clutch and little bit of boost leak maybe.. (couplers and everything on my aftermarket intercooler pipe seems to be fine though)
any brain busters on this

Check the coupler on the outlet from the turbos to the intercooler. Mine would blow off under hard boost occasionally. Do you hear a loud toilet flushing noise under hard throttle?

If any of the couplers blew off, he wouldn't be getting anywhere near 50kpa/7psi of boost. Even a crack in the coupler would leak more boost than that.

If your clutch was gone, you'd know it; you wouldn't be worried about boost, because your rpms would be sailing into redline.

I'd look at the turbo/LIM gasket first.

yes I do hear that kind of noise, like "phhhh" whenever i push my gas. especially in 2nd gear I would have to say.
I thought it was just the sound of my turbo.. lol..

well.. even though my rpms would be sailing into redline, it wouldn't build up its acceleration as fast as before i noticed my clutch was grinding away.
i thought the boost only has something to do with the acceleration, not with the rpms.

Fighters garage has a nifty tool to track down those pressure leaks just connect it add air and listen for the leak...

If you are only boosting to aprox 7psi, your boost is being regulated off the waste gate spring. If you have a boost controller ensure that it is hooked up properly, check all the hoses in the front of the turbo assembly going to the waste gate. Also check the corresponding waste gate actuator.

Hope this helps.

You're obviously not quite clear on the concept...

You wouldn't have much acceleration period if your clutch was toast, so whatever boost level you achieved wouldn't matter at that point. I would hope that anyone owning an FD would know if their clutch was slipping.
