I hope so too. Then, I'll feel more secure to mod the car more.

Uh, no we aren't. The first thread is about REDX7 blowing his car with the anti detonation device, the second one is fastcarfreak blowing his motor. Both of them had injector failure (read detonation) that the anti detonation device didn't stop.

Dave, (glassman) dont let someone see you making an effort to devalue/thwart the anti-kaboom device with that link, you will be moved to the back of the line.

Obviously there is no way to completely get rid of any chance of detonation in the motor. Nothing is gonna stop your motor from blowing if it loses 1/3 of the fuel that is supposed be there when your under boost. Infact we arent even 100 percent sure it was injector failure, we just suspect. We think that the rotor may have collapsed due to excessive heat from breaking in the new kazz differential (I only have 1 oil cooler). The motor blew just after finishing the break in when i went on the highway and an M3 did a ricer fly bye to me. I showed him who was boss, then my motor showed me who was boss. We will see what blew the motor for sure when Dave at KDR opens her up.

Cool

So the little Black Voo Doo box is not the sure magic cure for the rotary engine.
2 engines sporting the Anti-Kaboom, have Kaboom now??!!

this should get good.
its great to see peoples agendas. On one side we have the haters who want KD to fail cause they are either competitors or have had bad dealings in the past. On the other side we have the customers who want the product so bad that they are blind to everything else.

I think KD should chime in.We have been in the dark long enough. We could have some sort of public release of info without destroying the ability to patten or causing any ill effects on their development of the item.

And the third side, represented by yours truly, is very excited at the prospect of this product, but taking everything I read with a grain of salt.

I agree. If Skip or anyone else from KDR does read this, why not chime in? Once the patent has been applied for you can lay the plans for the thing out on a table and give them out for free. As long as your patent hit the office before anyone elses did, it's your invention.

I wanted to raise an issue that was brought up in the other thread, but wasn't allowed to mature because of its closing. Is there any word (or ideas) yet on premature O-ring failure do to the leaner AFR's? I'd like to hear word on the actual longevity of the engines using this device. This seems like an excellent mod in the prevention of detonation, but if it causes greater wear on the O-rings, engine reliability as a whole will still be shyt...

PG-unlimited, skip was telling me about you. You sound like a pretty stand up guy. He told me that you helped him make the product better and not for gains on your behalf. I commend you for looking out for fellow rotary owners at your own expense of time. I dont remember if it was You that he was talking about, but are you the one that has a dyno in your garage? I think that is pretty bad *** if you do. Anyways thanks man.

They are expensive, I sublease mine to a local shop to offset the expense. We are a startup business and the better we manage our money the better.

I'm sorry, but those of you that seem to think this device will stop a rotary, or any other engine for that matter, blowing up is just plain looney. From what I've understand, this device will compensate for ***** tuning and those wanting to run pump gas at 30psi. There no way in hell it can prevent mechanical failure caused by wear and tear. Lets start thinking about this device realistically!!!

I'm 100% behind this device, though being in the UK I'll probably never get my hands on one. Keep up the good work Skip/KDR.

How are they able to get a patent on a device that was created by another company? The "active" ignition thing was featured in Race Car Engineering (magazine out of England and available at Barnes and Noble) a while back. It certainly isn't a new or unique idea although I do hope it adds a bit of safety when used with a rotary. I have a feeling they're trying to secure the product from intellectual theft. If they didn't come up with the original concept and thus acquire a patent, they'll have to get an exclusive license which is expensive and tough to do. Maybe this is the real reason behind the delay?

As stated before, nothing will 100% proof a motor from blowing but it may extend the tuning window to new levels.
