Another V-mount and FM thread
I'm new to the turbo world, so please dont bash.
To me, the Front mount seems like it would be more practical, since it would get more direct air flow.
Just would be nice to know the different before i make a purchase in the future. Thanks a lot

Front mounts tend to take more air from the radiator which needs it the most and causes high temps. Not good. V mount cools just as well with a good hood and set up and don't take as much away from the radiator. If your car is going to be a drag queen then front mount is your best bet. Now if it going to be street driven or running road courses then V mount is the way to go.

Nothing is really "wrong" with it persay. I've always viewd the V-mount as just a far more efficient stock mounted intercooler. The intercooler itself isn't really going anywhere, so you still retain the nice short charge pipe advantage, but instead of having the radiator directily in front of a VERY good source of cool air, it's out of the way and continuing to receive the same air it was before.
The only real advantage I see to a FMIC on an rx7 is price, and if you own an FD you should be more than capable of spilling a few more $$$ on a vmount kit. Just my .02, I'm sure others disagree...
